Royal Rumble saw the official unveiling of Ronda Rousey because the WWE’s newest recruit, however, she wasn’t the most important star to step into the ring.
The former UFC bantamweight champion who hasn’t fought since losing to Amanda Nunes in December 2016 created her full-time entry into the wrestling ranks at the annual blockbuster.

Wrestling diehards appreciated Mysterio’s return as much as he did — and the numbers prove it.
The WWE’s Youtube video of Rousey’s arrival has been watched by 2.3 million at the time of writing, while 6.6 million people have watched Mysterio’s comeback on the same platform.
Mysterio’s post-show interview also attracted 1.2 million pairs of eyeballs while only half as many watched Rousey’s interview.

A wrestling icon, Mysterio’s popularity in WWE land is beyond doubt. His last appearance was on an episode of Raw in early 2015 after he started with the company 13 years prior, as knee injuries took their toll.
However, it’s unclear whether Mysterio’s return is a one-time deal or the beginning of something more substantial. It’s been reported the company wants its main man back on a full-time schedule, but he’s only prepared to commit to a full-time role.
