Low Fat Methi Wali Makai ki Roti

Ingredients for Methi Wali Makai ki Roti (Chapati) :-

  • 4 cups – Maize flour (Makkai Ka Atta)
  • 500 gm – Fresh fenugreek leaves (Methi Leaves)
  • 1/2 tbsp – Ginger paste
  • 2 – Onion finely chopped
  • 2 – Green chilies finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp – Carom seeds (ajwain)
  • 2 tbsp – Green coriander finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp – Red chili powder
  • 1 tsp or as per taste – Salt
  • 4 to 5 cups – Hot water
  • Oil or Ghee for fry

Method

Step-1
Seive makki ka Atta (Flour) in a large bowl.

Step-2
Add chopped Methi,chopped onions,green chilli ,salt to taste, anardana powder (Pomegranate) , sabut dhaniya (indian Coriander seeds), ajwain (Carom Seeds). Add luke warm water in little amount and knead it to make a soft dough like parantha.

Step-3
Divide dough in 4 equal portions and make a round ball with the help of palms.

Step-4
Put plastic sheet on the rolling board and put one ball over it and cover it with plastic sheet again. Then tap with your palm and flatten it.

Tip– You can flatten roti (Chapati) with a help of rolling pin also.

Step-5
Remove plastic sheet from upper side and transfer roti (Chapati) over your palm by turning it upside down. Now remove plastic sheet from top also.

Step-6
Place the rolled roti (Chapati) over medium heated tawa (iron pan). Cook both sides with the help of oil till both sides gets golden brown.
